Dr. William (Bill) Tarbell grew up in humble circumstances in the small town of Suquamish, Washington. Frequent forays into the Olympic and Cascade Mountains developed in him a passion for all things outdoors. After moving with his family to Pennsylvania, he began an extended journey into higher education, eventually acquiring two masters’ degrees and a doctorate.
During more than forty years of service in two Protestant denominations, Bill worked with numerous non-profit organizations, including Lions International, Boy Scouts of America, and many local entities reaching out to the hungry, unemployed and disabled. Engaging politically behind the scenes, he sought to strengthen commitments to traditional community and personal values. Bill’s career has taken him to nine states and five major regions of the United States. This has allowed him to develop a wide range of political and community expertise.
Now a devoted Nevadan, he seeks to serve the people of his chosen state in the broadest possible way. In the spirit of his newest service group, the Knights of Columbus, he intends to engage every cultural, ethnic and religious group in Nevada in the business of governing our state.
